Thanks to the support from Wintergreen Resort and Bold Rock cidery, NCCF was able to turn fun and exercise over the 2019 Thanksgiving weekend into more funds for grants. On hand to present a check from the annual “Be Thankful 5K” were Alex Osterhoudt (Bold Rock), Neil Ripani (Wintergreen Resort), Art Thorn (NCCF), Lindsay Dorrier III (Bold Rock), Peggy Whitehead (NCCF), and Peter Agelasto III (Rockfish Valley Foundation, which also received a portion of the race proceeds).

NCCF’s 2019 Opportunity (Costume) Ball was a screeching success

Witches, warlocks—and even a shark head—boogied to the music of British rock cover band Abbey Road, while enjoying wine, a buffet dinner, and live and silent auctions at party venue Valley Road Vineyards. Thank you to all the donors, business sponsors, and patrons who supported this very important fundraiser.

Turkeys Trots for the Good of the Community

Nearly 125 runners braved the cold, soggy weather for the 2019 “Be Thankful 5K” at Bold Rock Cidery over Thanksgiving weekend. Sponsored by Wintergreen Resort and co-hosted by Bold Rock, proceeds from the annual family fun benefited the Nelson County Community Fund and the Rockfish Valley Foundation. Participants scored tee shirts, cider mugs, and prizes for best costumes, fastest dog, and other fun categories.

(L to R, seated) NCCF president Peggy Whitehead, treasurer Arthur Thorn, and secretary Donna McCurdy, along with co-sponsor Wintergreen Resort’s Neil Ripani (standing), registered more than 120 runners for the annual “Be Thankful 5K” at Bold Rock cidery.
