The Nelson County Community Fund of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, awarded $72,000 in grant awards to ten non-profit organizations or projects in Nelson County as part of its Winter 2011 grant cycle. Organizations receiving grant awards include:

The Nelson County Community Fund raises money through the Opportunity Ball and through direct contributions from Nelson County citizens. Since 2000, NCCF has awarded more than $525,000 in grants to more than 40 non-profits with the goal to improve the quality of life for all citizens in our community.
